There is a particular kind of beige that only an architectural review committee can produce. You know it when you see it. It is the beige of the approved palette, the beige that survived three rounds of revision, the beige that nobody loves and nobody can object to, which is exactly the point. It is the color of consensus, and consensus, when applied to houses, is a slow form of death.
