The Impact of Social Media on Mental Health

Growing up, I was always fascinated by the intersection of technology and humanity. But it wasn’t until my grandfather passed away in 2010 that I began to realize the profound impact social media has on our mental health.
As a passionate activist who dedicated his life to amplifying marginalized voices, he understood the power of storytelling and connection. And yet, even with all the tools at our disposal today, we’ve somehow lost sight of what truly matters in this digital age.

The constant stream of curated highlight reels, the algorithms designed to keep us hooked, it’s no wonder so many people are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and isolated. It’s as if we’re losing ourselves in a sea of ‘likes’ and comments.
So here’s my question: how do we reclaim our humanity in this digital world? How can we use social media not just for connection but also for self-care, empowerment, and community-building?
