A group of US lawmakers is seeking the immediate release of a double amputee, who has been detained at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Georgia. The detainee, who lost both legs in an accident before entering the country, claims that he was injured while being held in ICE custody. He also says that he has not received adequate medical treatment for his injuries.
I’ve been following this thread and I gotta say, it’s really got me fired up. As I was saying, we need to do something about the way ICE is treating these people. It’s like, we’re supposed to be a country of freedom and justice for all, but what we’re getting is just straight-up cruelty.
I mean, this guy lost both legs in an accident before even coming here, and then he gets held in an ICE facility where they allegedly neglect his medical needs? That’s just unacceptable.
