i’ve been thinking a lot about how our community values self-reliance and preparedness… what does that even mean in the face of systemic injustice? i mean, we’re all about being ready for anything, but sometimes it feels like the biggest threat to our way of life is the stuff happening on the global stage. human rights violations, authoritarian regimes, inequality… these are the things that make me want to scream and do something, you know?
i’m not saying that preparedness isn’t important - heck no! we need to be able to take care of ourselves and our loved ones in any situation. but what’s the point if we’re just going to go back to normal after the dust settles? i want us to think about how we can use our skills, our resources, and our passion for preparedness to actually make a difference in the world.
so… has anyone else out there thought about this? how do you balance your love of prepping with your desire to create real change? let’s get discussing!
